Sindhanur station sits on the Ballari–Vijayapur section of the Mahabubnagar–Munirabad railway line. A major new line is under construction from Ginigera (Koppal District) to Mahabubnagar via Gangavathi, Sindhanur, Manvi, and Raichur. The first phase — Ginigera to Raichur — was estimated to complete in 2025. Once complete, this project will dramatically expand connectivity for the entire Raichur region.

Bengaluru–Hubballi Express Extended to Sindhanur
The KSR Bengaluru–SSS Hubballi Express (Train No. 17391/92) was officially extended up to Sindhanur and flagged off by the Union Minister of State for Railways, Shri V. Somanna, at a special function held at Sindhanur Railway Station. The Minister announced that a dedicated reservation counter will soon be established at Sindhanur station, along with plans for the construction of a passenger rest house and improvements in overall passenger amenities.
“The extension of this train will significantly aid the growth of trade, industry, agriculture, and education in the region. Daily service will ensure seamless travel for residents of Sindhanur and surrounding villages to both Hubballi and Bengaluru,” the Minister said.
Commercial Operations Begin on Ginigera–Raichur Line
Sindhanur Railway Station commenced its first commercial passenger train operations on March 14, 2024. South Western Railway (SWR) extended the routes of two trains from Hubballi to Karatagi and one train from Yeshwantpur to Karatagi, all of which now include Sindhanur. The extended trains include the Karatagi–SSS Hubballi Express (17304), SSS Hubballi–Karatagi Express (17303), and special express trains on this corridor.
